The main events and characters are as follows. Prior to his death and the entrance into the promise land. Moses gave a farewell speech to the younger generation of Israelites, which were allowed to enter the promise land. The young Israelites were up against a formidable foe the Canaanites that inhibited the land that God had promised them. God had been faithful to them in the past, would he be faithful to them in the future. At this time, God renewed his covenant with his people and made the people of Israel aware of the blessing or curses within the covenant for obedience or disobedience. The choice was up to them, could they live up to the standards of behavior that would help fulfill their heavenly calling? If they remained faithful to this calling it would direct God blessing to the entire world.
