The Genre of this book is epistle. The key theme of this book is to bring glory to the Lord Jesus Christ, to edify and encourage the reader. The letter talks about righteousness of the people when guided by the Holy Spirit. Paul also uses this letter to present the good news. The key characters and events are as follows. The apostle Paul writes a letter to the Roman church while in jail. He tells of the good news of Jesus Christ. That Jesus Christ death and resurrection reversed the terrible effects of Adam sin. That through faith Jews and Gentiles has equal access to God’s grace in Christ. That sin or law cannot prevent God purpose for the believer, the liberation of the believer from death by the Holy Spirit. That all people are sinners. The sinner is destine for death and can be made right with God, through belief in Jesus Christ. In the letter he tells the people of Rome how to deal with problems, failures, and disputes that are common in this world. That all can be righteous when guided by the Holy Spirit.
