The Genre of this book is a gospel historical narrative. The key theme of this book is; those who accept Christ revelation and redemption with faith will gain eternal life. The key characters and events are as follows. John an evangelical pastor wrote this book to inspire faith. John was known as the disciple that Jesus loved. He wrote a very intimate account of the person of Christ. In this book hear of eyewitness accounts of Jesus life and miracles. We have the question answered, is Jesus the son of God? This is a time in history where the churches were converting the Jewish people in record numbers. John faced a lot of conflict and controversy from false teachers. He brought strength to the community and faith with is portrait of Jesus. We read of the account of Jesus baptism when he was called to his earliest followers. We hear of when a wedding party ran out of wine and Jesus turned water to wine. We get a personal look into the character of Jesus when he drives corruption and money dealing out of the church. We learn to understand why Jesus was brought to us when he offers Samaria women with a rather colorful past, an opportunity for living water and forgiveness. We hear the account of Jesus healing the lame and blind. He brought the message to the world that he is here to fulfill, what Judaism was promised in the Old Testament. We hear the eyewitness account of Jesus arrest and integration and death. We are also there for his resurrection from the dead. We hear of the accounts of his appearance to his follower after he rose from the dead. Jesus makes it known to us his purpose in revealing God is to redemption of the people. That worship will take place after he has returned to his father through the Holy Spirit for all those who believe. That the Holy Spirit is the transforming power of God that keeps Jesus with them after his death. That it is the churches reason ability after Jesus death to tell the world about him. This book also tells of Christ return and the establishment of the eternal kingdom of God.
