Regardless of how the business is structured, it is important as believers to uphold a level of integrity and truth in all aspects of daily business. Actions of the individual reflect on the company as a whole. No plan is perfect, and despite the amount of time committed to creating a strategic plan, problems will arise. It is in those times that the behaviors of the employee, whether top level manager or assembly line worker, reflect patience and respect (James 1:19-20). The Bible teaches the believer, “My dear brothers, take note of this: Everyone should be quick to listen, slow to speak and slow to become angry, for man's anger does not bring about the righteous life that God desires” (NIV). Finding amicable solutions that benefit all tends to be the best course of action and helps to move the company forward. Often, this is easier said than done. However, we must strive to give our best.

Additionally, God commands Christians to spread the gospel not only in their personal lives but also in their business lives. Therefore, they should make all their decisions based on what the Bible teaches us and should not jeopardize their faith or integrity. “In the same way, let your light shine before others, so that they may see your good works and give glory to your Father who is in heaven” (Matthew 5:16, NIV). The Christian business owner can spread the Gospel of Christ to all their stakeholders through living a Godly life.

Not only are Christians believers instructed by the Bible to spread the gospel and to conduct themselves with the highest levels of fairness, accountability, and ethical standards, but must also do so in instances of outsourcing.  Outsourcing has sometimes been seen in a negative light, as it is not uncommon to collaborate with a company outside of the United States where Christianity is not practiced or condoned. Regardless of this fact, outsourcing is an opportunity to display Christian values and ethical standards through work relationships with these other companies and its employees. The Bible states, “Not domineering over those in your charge, but being examples to the flock (1 Peter 5:3, ESV).” This principle can be applied, as one company cannot demand that its partner company be comprised of Christians.  Christians can lead by being an example to others by displaying Christian values and ethics both within the workplace and its business relationships.  This helps to achieve the Christian need to conduct business fair and justly, as well as to fulfill the calling to spread the gospel.

The Christian leadership of any organization has a responsibility to the company and to God.  Therefore, it is important the leader establish safe, sanitary working environment. The Bible states, “the laborer deserves his wages” (Timothy 5:18, NIV). The Christian leader has been entrusted with ensuring that the company makes profits and pays the employees a fair reasonable wage for the work rendered.  As well, the leadership must be careful that organizations objectives do not conflict with God’s word.
