Homemade Chocolate Pudding
- 3 TBSP cocoa
- 2 cups milk
- 1 cup sugar
- 1 TBSP butter
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 3 TBSP cornstarch OR 4 TBSP flour
- 2 egg yolks
- 1 tsp vanilla
- Put 1 1/2 cups of the milk and coca in top of double boiler, stirring cocoa in well. (I used my handy dandy stick blender to get it well mixed)
- Bring milk/cocoa mixture to the boiling point.
- combine sugar, salt and cornstarch. Add the remaining 1/2 cup of milk to make a smooth paste.
- Add the paste to the milk/cocoa mixture and cook until thickened.
- Beat the egg yolks, then add a small amount of the hot mixture before adding the yolks to the milk.
- Cook 2 more minutes.
- Remove from heat. Add butter and vanilla. Refrigerate for later or eat while warm. Either way this is one delicious pudding.
