Sidewalk Smoke Bombs (What you need)

• Empty egg shells
• Crushed up sidewalk chalk
• Baby powder
• A glue stick
• Tissue paper

You want to begin by saving eggshells as you make eggs.  You will want to crack your eggs in a certain way.  Gently crack the top of the egg using the tip of a butter knife.  Carefully break the shell away so that you have a hole large enough to empty the inside of the eggs into a bowl.  You will then be left with hollow shells

I recommend gently swishing warm water and a touch of antibacterial soap inside the hollowed shells and rinsing.  After we clean the eggs I place them back in the egg carton until I am ready to use them.  

When you are ready to fill your eggs you will want to make a chalk powder mixture using crushed chalk and baby powder.  Making crushed chalk is very easy, and there are tons of ways to use it in play. 

How much you add is really up to you.  The baby powder just helps make the chalk smoke when the eggs are tossed.

Carefully fill your eggshells with the chalk powder mixture

  Once you have your crushed chalk you will want to add baby powder to it and mix well.

Then use tissue paper to cover whole and entire egg
