Perseverance, endurance, pressing on, don't give up.  We often think of these in the realm of sports or education or work.  However, much of God's word relating to perseverance is related to our sanctification, our spiritual walk with Him.  He tells us to never grow weary of doing good (2 Thes 3:13). " Blessed is the one who perseveres under trials, for when  he has stood the test,  then  he will receive the crown of life, which God promises to those who love Him."  James 1:12.  "If you love me you will obey my commands." John 14:15    

How are you doing in persevering in your faith?  Those who have a heart that has been transformed through the saving grace of Jesus have been sealed and He will help us in persevering.  However, there are many who when they heard the gospel, the seed (the word of God) fell on rocks.  They had joy when they received His word, and believed for a while, but when tested, they fell away as it did not take root in their lives.  There are also those who hear, believe, but as they walk through life the cares of this world become more important (riches, pleasures..), and their fruit does not mature.  Those who persevere in faith - hear the word, hold fast to it in an honest and good heart, bearing fruit in patience.  (Luke 8:10-15)

Praying each of us can continue to put off our old self and be fully transformed, no longer conforming to this world, persevering in our faith toward the hope that He has called us.
