There is a story that grandfather Clair use to tell me about him and his brother in the 40's. When he was younger books were very expensive. The trip to a local library was a day away in a horse and buggy. The few children's books the teacher lent them from school, they would read over and over again with thirteen children in the house. One summer grandpa and his brother Gene when they were about nine and elven years old went to work for a junk yard the entire summer for a barrel of books. Your grandfather and his siblings spent many years traveling the world with these books. This is why I have my love of reading today.
