Godly advice on your marriage.

Matthew 6: 33- "But seek first His kingdom and His righteousness, and He will give you everything you need."

-His will and purpose should come above all else, and above our own worldly desires.

-Small lives cannot sustain big marriages, and therefore, when we seek worldly things above God's purpose for us, we become bored with our lives and unfulfilled.

- We blame our marriage for our small life problems.

-We are happiest when we're investing in a bigger purpose.

-When we grow in Christ, we grow in Christ's likeness. We gain patience, kindness, gentleness, faithfulness, self-control, and forgiveness. These are things that help not only sustain, but build up our marriage.

-When you actively seek Christ, you are shedding yourself of the things the ruin marriages as well: Pride, lust, selfishness, unrighteousness, anger and lust.

-When we fall away from Christ, we blame our spouse for not compromising in the areas of weakness in our marriage.

-We become so focused on our worldly accomplishments, those things become a priority over everything else. We become selfish and resent anything "getting in the way of our success".. this can include our spouse.

Ephesians 5:1- Follow God's example as dearly loved children, just as He loved and gave Himself up for us as a sign of his Love.

-When we marry our spouse, we are making a promise to love, cherish, and take care of a child of God.

-If God looked at you today, how would He feel? How would He feel about your marriage? About how you're taking care of His child?

Hebrew 12:6- The Lord disciplines the ones He loves, and the ones He accepts as His children.

-He holds us accountable, because He loves us.
